If using an alcohol-based hand rub, ensure hands are not visibly contaminated or soiled then apply a nickel-sized amount of the product, and cover all surfaces of the hands.

Rub hands until hands are dry, usually about 20 seconds. Ensure enough product is applied to cover all areas of the hands and wrists before the product dries
